The Christianisation of Europe was a long-term process which was developed by means of different strategies. One of these was missionary activity. In Bohemia, the Christianisation is contemporary of the formation of the regnum, as in other parts of Central Europe such as Poland and Hungary. Among others, missionary bishops (or bishops and missionaries) spread the Word, the Christian faith and worked in order to incorporate the people of Bohemia into Christianity. Nonetheless, its impact was uneven during the beginning of the process, when the flock reacted reluctantly. The wide range of reactions revealed include manifestations from violence to mockery. The focus here is set on the last one.
